"The face marks that fragile terrain on which perception, identity, and the outside world merge. It is the surface through which we know and are known by the world. It is also the surface to which all memories adhere.
"These mixed media works concern themselves with notions of the face as a permeable boundary through and against which our lives and memories flow."
